chicken breast with ritz cracker crumbs

If you want to bake tender chicken breasts that are not dry, this crispy Ritz cracker chicken is the recipe for you. The last time I made this flavorful baked chicken, it was practically fork tender -- seriously!

We had Ritz chicken growing up. It's one of my favorite chicken recipes. My kids love buttery Ritz crackers -- actually their favorite cracker! So even my picky eater loves this easy dinner recipe as much as I do.

To make this chicken all you need are four boneless, skinless chicken breasts, 2 eggs, Ritz crackers, garlic salt and pepper. You can easily adapt the flavor by using your favorite seasonings.

Simply dip the chicken in eggs, then dredge in the cracker crumbs and place in a 913 baking dish that has been lightly sprayed with non-stick cooking spray. Last, top chicken evenly with pieces of butter.

NOTE: For this dinner, I needed to bake one chicken breast separate for my daughter with an egg allergy. Instead of dipping the breast in eggs, I dipped it in plain yogurt and then the cracker crumbs, baking it in a small baking dish. She absolutely loved it! She ate the whole chicken breast, which was shocking because she usually eats like a bird.

I have tried butter chicken recipe with ghee instead of butter. Now you may ask how to use ghee? Ghee is used here as a butter replacement. The result is a tasty chicken dish with additional ghee flavor. I have used best quality grass-fed ghee.To know more : -to-use-ghee/

This is a delicious and easy to make recipe. The only change I make is I dredge the breasts in flour, then into the beaten egg and then into the Ritz cracker crumb mixture. It makes great leftovers and goes well with rice, potatoes or buttered noodles. If the breasts are big I slice them horizontally into two thinner pieces. Definitely put this recipe into your rotation!

I butterflied two large chicken breasts and cooked it according to instructions. It came out burnt but still good. Next time I will only bake for 30 minutes and maybe even flip the chicken breast half way through.

Start by whisking the eggs together in one shallow bowl, then mix together the crushed Ritz crackers with the spices in another shallow bowl. Dip one side of the chicken in the egg wash, then in the cracker mixture, then place the chicken coated side up in a casserole dish or on a rimmed baking sheet. (See the recipe card below for the full printable recipe.)

Bake uncovered in a preheated oven until the chicken is cooked through and the crushed Ritz crackers are golden brown. See the recipe card below for the full written instructions, including ingredient amounts, cooking times, and helpful tips, etc.

Ritz Crackers are ideal because, while they are a cracker, they are a softer version of a cracker. The softness of the Ritz is what makes it so wonderful as a breading for the chicken strips because it will absorb some of the beaten egg and milk mixture, which is what gives you that glorious crispy breading once baked.

1. dip cleaned fish fillets in beaten mixture of egg, milk, nutmeg, salt & pepper2.dip fillets into flour3. dip fillets back into egg, milk, spices mixture quickly so as to not loose much of flour4. dip/press fillets into crushed Ritz crackers5. pan fry with small amount of oil on both sides until golden6. drain on paper towels

I'm always looking for new and different ways to make chicken. This Ritz Cracker Chicken is one of my go-to easy recipes when I'm wanting something tasty with minimal effort. The whole family really enjoys this recipe and it makes enough for all of them. Of course, you could double if you are wanting to serve more people. Using simple ingredients, this recipe really comes together quickly and bakes up with a nice crispy, flavorful crust and tender chicken. If you are looking for a guaranteed winner, winner chicken dinner, then you need to add this Ritz Cracker Chicken recipe to your menu.

Preheat the oven to 375F. Spray a 9x13-inch baking dish with cooking spray, set aside. Season the chicken breasts on both sides with the salt and pepper, set aside. Place the eggs in a medium-sized shallow bowl and beat well with a fork, set aside. Place the crushed crackers, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, and paprika in a medium-sized shallow bowl and stir to combine.

I made this last night. Things changed were veggie crackers, 1 1/2 cups sour cream, 1/2 cup mayo, and salt n pepper. The chicken was very tender and moist. It needs more spices (to my surprise) and the salt n pepper. My husband liked it, but added a lot of salt to it.The veggie crackers added more flavor, too.

Made 1st time tonight. Hubby and I liked it. He commented how tasty it was which is rare for him.I substituted dried onion flakes ground in food proceddor along with crackers as I was out of onion powder. It worked out well. Will definitely make again but add a bit of salt and pepper to sour cream mixture.

I solved the mushy partFry your chicken cutlets first on both sides to create the crust then put on a cookie sheet with rack and finish in the ovenTurned out perfectly crispy and delicious

Absolutely delicious! The chicken is so tender and that buttery ritz cracker adds so much to this dish! Thank you so much; It brought back memories for me of my grandma, and also my dad, making her chicken ritz cracker casserole. I will be making this over and over again!!

This Ritz cracker chicken is made by coating boneless chicken breasts in rich, buttery crackers and spices and then baking them in the oven. They come out golden brown with a crispy crust and the chicken stays tender and juicy.

This Ritz cracker chicken is comfort food at its best and is so easy to prepare. This delicious chicken recipe cooks up tender and moist with a crispy, buttery crust. It will be a guaranteed family favorite!

I have been making this chicken for years and even my 5 year old granddaughter requests it for dinner when she is here. My twist on this recipe is use the Garlic Ritz crackers instead of the plain Ritz crackers. It adds that extra flavor!! Enjoy!

If using thick chicken breast halves (not thin cut/cutlets), I like to double the ingredients for the breading and do a double coat. Dip in egg, crackers, back in egg and then crackers again. This gives a better coating-to-meat-thickness ratio.

This recipe can be made with chicken or turkey, depending on what you have available at home. Depending on which Ritz Crackers you use for this recipe, you can make several different flavors, such as:

As you coat the chicken, put it in an olive spray basket or tray. Continue to coat your chicken until you use up your chicken. Set the chicken basket or tray into the air fryer, then GENEROUSLY spray your chicken with olive oil spray, and air fry for 7 minutes at 370 degrees F, air fryer sitting. After 7 minutes, flip your chicken and air fry another 5-7 minutes until your internal temperature reaches 165 degrees F.

To freeze, cook as directed, and place the cooked chicken breasts onto a parchment-lined baking sheet. Place the baking sheet into the freeze, and freeze until frozen solid. Remove the chicken from the baking sheet, wrap the individual chicken breast in saran wrap, and place them into a freezer bag. The chicken breast will last for 1 to 2 months.

Air Fryer Ritz Cracker Chicken -- Ever tried air fryer ritz cracker chicken? It's a quick, easy recipe that tastes great. The best part is it only takes about 15 minutes to make! You can use any flavor of Ritz crackers for this recipe, but I recommend the original. This dish will be your new favorite go-to weeknight meal!

  • Tips for the Best Ritz Butter ChickenUse fresh chicken, frozen chicken, will work but you will never get the breading to stay on the chicken.

  • If you find that your breading is coming off, I would recommend using a reusable air fryer silicone liner and lining the basket with it. This will help your breading stay on during air frying.

  • Spray your chicken generously with a high heat oil, which will help the breading crisp up. You can use olive oil, avocado oil, or even coconut oil.

  • If you can not find the Ritz Cracker Crumbs at the grocery store on Amazon.com, you can add your Ritz Crackers to a plastic bag and crush them. The recipe will work the same.

  • Ensure not crowd your air fryer basket. Otherwise, your chicken will not properly crips up. The air fryer needs to circulate the chicken, which will cause it to perfectly crisp up!

  • The best way to tell if the chicken has cooked up would be to use a meat thermometer since every air fryer is slightly different.

  • Check the internal temperature of the chicken in the thickest part of the chicken, which should read 165 degrees F.

There are different ways to thaw your chicken breasts. The safest way is to leave them in your refrigerator. If you forgot to use this method ,and you are in a hurry to thaw your chicken, you can also submerge them in cold water. I like to use a plastic baggie, and change out the water every 25-30 minutes. It will take around three hours, depending on the amount of chicken you are thawing.

I have only seen it at Publix, so this Ritz chicken is a variation without that. However, if you do have a Publix locally, you may be able to cut a step out by buying them already crushed.

Baked Ritz cracker chicken is not only crispy on the outside but each bite is moist and juicy similar to Nut and panko-crusted chicken breasts. An alternative to baking would be to pan fry chicken tenders to get that crispy coating. To get super moist chicken breasts, my favorite technique is to let them marinate in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes or overnight.
